The main driver must be at least 23 years old and have held a valid, unendorsed licence for a minimum of two years. Performance-category vehicles require the driver to be 28 or older.

Foreign licences must be in English or accompanied by an International Driving Permit. Additional drivers must be present at handover and named on the agreement.

A deposit of 20% of the rental total is payable on confirmation and is credited against the final invoice. A pre-authorisation for the applicable insurance excess is held on the main driver's credit card at handover and released within 10 working days of return.

Rates are quoted in South African Rand and include VAT.

Rentals include 200km per 24-hour period, pooled across the rental. Additional kilometres are billed at R4.50 per km for Economy and SUV classes and R7.50 per km for Executive and Performance classes.

Vehicles are supplied with a full tank and must be returned full. Refuelling by us is charged at cost plus a R250 service fee.

All rentals include third-party liability, theft cover and 24/7 roadside assistance. Standard cover carries a R15 000 excess; Reduced Excess lowers this to R5 000; Zero Excess removes it entirely.

Cover is void where damage results from driving under the influence, unauthorised drivers, off-road use outside agreed terms, or wilful negligence. Tyre, rim, glass and undercarriage damage is excluded from Standard cover.

Reservations are confirmed by our team once submitted online. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before pickup are refunded in full; within 48 hours the deposit is retained. No-shows are charged one rental day.

Date changes are free subject to availability of the same vehicle class.

Vehicles may not be used for racing, driver instruction, towing, ride-hailing services or the transport of goods for reward. Smoking in any vehicle incurs a R1 500 cleaning charge.

Cross-border travel into Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini is permitted with written authorisation and the applicable letter of permission; a border fee applies.

Traffic infringements and toll charges incurred during the rental remain the renter's responsibility. Administration of redirected fines is charged at R350 per notice.

ST Legacies is not liable for indirect loss, including missed flights or appointments, arising from vehicle unavailability, save for a refund of amounts paid.

Personal information, including licence and identity documents, is collected solely to administer your rental and meet legal obligations, and is processed in line with POPIA.
